Nano Brows Utah: Everything you need to know before booking.

Nano Brows in Utah is done by Angela Lealaogata

This works with Utah or anywhere else you live, but I currently live in South Jordan Utah, and I wanted to share some of the top things you need to know or do before booking a Nano Brow appt. Some of the things you want to know is Nano Brows is done with a tattoo machine it is not the same things as microblading, but you can get similar results with a good artist. You just need to know that Nano brows everyone is a good candidate where microblading only 30-40% of people are.  If you have super oily, combination, sensitive, thin, or mature skin microblading isn't the best option because it can cause more scar tissue damage and it is harder on the skin.

I call Nano Brows the newer better version than microblading.. I have found if any of my clients have previously done microblading they all have said Nano brows hurts less.  Nano brows is done with a tattoo machine and one single needle usually which means it can be a thinner finer line. Its doing many small pokes into the skin to create a line, but with microblading you dip the small blade into the ink and almost scratch it into the skin.  Which is why it can cause more damage, and or bleeding. Nano Brows usually lasts longer than microblading, and looks better longer. When you find a good Nano Brow artist they also can do other services like color correcting with their tattoo machine which you can not do with a microblade.

It does take more skill, practice, time, and money to learn nano brows. There are many artists that struggle to switch because it takes so much longer. So one of the things you should know is the appt does take longer. Depending on how good the artist is it usually takes 2-2.5 hours for the first appt. That includes arriving, numbing for 15-30 min. measuring and drawing on your template of your brow. Making any edits after showing the client than I would start the tattoo process usually within the 2-2.5 hour appt you are only being tattooed for 1-1.5 hours.

The order of things you should expect when you get to your appt is you first get pictures if you allow, get numbed, tattoo artist will also check consent form and set up during numbing, choose the color of ink,  draw the template of the brows, than have you lay down to start tattooing. Once done she might check symmetry and do any last minute touch ups, than she will explain healing and after care, take pics, and you will be done. If at any point you feel confused, don't like something ASK QUESTIONS.  I would much rather have a client ask why I am choosing a color I am or this part of brow looks lower etc than for her to tell me after I have done the tattoo.  Sometimes it is just the way they see themselves and sometimes we can easily adjust or explain why we need or chose a certain shape or color.

During the procedure you will have been numbed with a primary numbing and than usually when the artist does the first pass they will use a secondary numbing which usually has epinephrine which only works when the skin has been opened up and uses your blood. So If you feel it a little bit you usually won't feel anything after the secondary numbing.  I have had many clients fall asleep during the procedure, and as long as you don't jerk in your sleep I will let you sleep :)

Always remember to please please check out many PMU artists before selecting your artist. Think to yourself if something is going to be on me forever is it worth looking for a "cheaper option" Remember cheaper option might end up costing you way more in the long run to get them removed and redone by someone better.  I am not saying that you always have to pick the most expensive. That is for sure not true, but what I am saying is make sure you choose wisely. I will do another post on things I would check and questions I would ask myself and the artist if and when you look for an artist.

Hope this helps and you find it interesting, and remember ALWAYS be YOU and that is BEAUTIFUL!!

Can Old Microblading be fixed?

Nano Brows in Utah is done by Angela Lealaogata

As someone who had Microblading done that I had removed to get nano brows I want to share why I removed them, and when I would recommend them getting removed or corrected. Some of the main questions I would ask are:

Do I like the shape of my brows?

Do I like the color?

Are my brows too dark?

How long ago did I get my brows?

How much money am I willing to change my brows?

Do I like the style of brows I chose, and would I want it to be different?

These main questions are the ones I help to figure out if someone's old tattoo, microblading, or PMU work should be removed or can they be color corrected? first question one of the main questions I would ask is do I like the shape or do I significantly want the shape changed.  If you want a big difference of your shape to be changed and your brows are too thick or too long or too high or too low, and we can't work within the shape you already have than I usually recommend getting them removed either through laser, saline, or glycolic solution or a mix of both.

If we can work with the shape and the color is not too dark than I would say we could add to it and or color correct depending on what we need. If you don't like the color either its gray, blue, red, pink, orange or whatever color we can do a color correction. That usually means we use a color that is opposite color or undertone of what your brows are to neutralize it and, than we can do a normal hair color over it. Depending on how drastic the color is on your face now a lot of times I recommend doing a color correction in one session not doing any additional color so it can heal completely than in 6-8 weeks we can either do combo, nano, powder brows with a color you want it to be. When we give the full healing time to just the one color correction color it doesn't have to fight any other pigment, and you usually get a better result. If the color discoloration is slight that you usually can do a slight color correction and do nano strokes or other shading on the same appt.

If you got your brows done recently and I mean within a couple days and you are freaking out they are so bad than you can get emergency removal done. It does work better and faster if you do it that fast, but if you have waited past that point don't worry its not like you can't get them removed or fixed it can just take more sessions sometimes.

One of the other main questions you need to ask yourself is how much money and time am I willing to spend. When you remove and start over that will always cost more, because you will most likely pay for more than one session of removal whether laser, saline, glycolic and, than you will start the process of doing your brows and letting them heal so after each session of removal depending on who you get it done from I have heard some people will let you come back after 3-4 weeks up to 6-8 weeks. Think about needing to do that 2-4 times and, than 2 more appt for getting your brows done. All of those appt can add up in money and time for healing, not wearing makeup, or not swimming and hot tubbing. So all of those things might play a role on whether you want to remove or color correct.

Usually if they aren't horrible in shape or darkness I would say we can work within the shape and color correct and then possibly do nano or shading over it. One of the things you need to know is when you color correct usually its a solid area that you are correct the block of gray, blue, etc so when you add the warmth color you still will have color behind the new hair strokes so they won't ever look as crisp and clean unless you start from scratch because you won't see your skin behind it because there is already a base color. Which a lot of people are totally fine with, but I want to help you make the best decision for you.

For most people they did like their past results for the most part otherwise they would have removed them, so when a client comes to me alot of the time I will recommend color correction, and sometimes just doing that with no other hair strokes etc makes them love their brows again and they don't have to do anything else. But sometimes they do want to tweak the shape or darken the color etc so than we schedule nano brows after. I usually won't guarantee doing Nano or combo brows until after they have done the color correction and know they want something different about your brows.

If you live in the south jordan, utah area and want a consult to see if you are a good fit for color correction or nano brows, or removal let me know and I would love to connect and figure out what would be the best fit for you and your beautiful brows.

Lip Blushing enhances your natural lip color and adds definition and creates a soft, refreshed look.

Nano Brows in Utah is done by Angela Lealaogata

Lip Blushing enhances your natural lip color and definition using cosmetic tattoo techniques to create a soft, refreshed, and youthful lip appearance. I help choose colors tailored to your skin tone and desired style.  There are a lot of artists out there advertising they can make your lips bigger and overline your lips.  If an artist guarantees that they will overline and make you lips bigger you need to make sure to ask more questions.

Can you make my lips bigger?

Do you overline the lips?

Do you tattoo on just the lips or past it?

Will I ever be able to remove with a laser?

Now I will answer what the questions should be. Now everyone answers questions differently and so someone's answers might actually mean the same or might not understand the question if they are new or have a language barrier. I have seen some scary results that I would recommend removing. Before you choose your artist and go in to get this procedure done I want you to be prepared what are answers or questions that you should be careful of how you ask and how they answer.

There are a lot of artists that could answer to the question of yes to can you make your lips bigger so that doesn't necessarily mean they should be a no go. The follow up questions should give you a more definitive answer. If they say yes than ask do you overline my lips? or can you? and if they say yes ask how do you know how far you can go out? If they answer with I just see what looks best, or how far you want me to go, or anything other than "Technically you can't go outside of your lip skin, but if you have lost pigment in your lips or they are imbalanced we can go out to your vermillion border."

What that means is NO ARTIST should go outside of the vermillion border for any reason. And how you can look is if you look closely you can see peach fuzz, pores and sometimes the texture of your skin goes in lines up to the skin and stops sometimes you can have fine lines that go past your lip skin. ALL of these things can help tell you where your lip skin ends. If they try to map your lips and draw past any of those things Pores, Peach fuzz, lines and texture look different, If you see dots those usually are your pores.

The rule is if you want to balance your lip size, shape, or make them more symmetrical or any bigger you can go up to a certain point. If one side is higher than the other you need to choose the highest point of your lowest side because if you go on the highest side of the highest side in order to match that side you will be tattooing on non lip skin. I hope that makes sense when you read this. You never want to draw on non lip skin they heal differently. You can't laser colors that have white or titanium mixed in or it can turn gray so usually saline or glycolic removal is best around the lips or on the lips.

I personally as a makeup artist of 19 years don't like overlining the lips even with makeup, but with permanent makeup you definitely don't want to have that permanently on your face. It can look smudged, fake, too big, and that you drew on your lips not on your lips.  you also don't want to take the outer edges or corners of your mouth to wide or you can look like those claymation animations. Don't do it and don't let someone do it to you. So in the same regard you can't go outside of your vermillion lip border you don't have to tattoo all of the lip skin. Create a beautiful shape within the lip skin that you can see.

When choosing a color remember with lip blushing you lose anywhere from 60-80% of lip blushing color depending on how pigmented and how much the artist implants the color during the procedure.  The more passes over the same area the more pigmented and darker it can be when it heals.  If you want a more natural color you can do a more sheer look and have them do less passes or dilute the color. The one complaint I have had with people that have gotten lip blushing is they wish they had gone darker or brighter. Remember that when choosing a color. If you are worried you can always do two sessions.

Taking all of that into consideration can you get your lips to look more defined, fuller, and a brighter or darker color. Absolutely. But everyone starts out with so much lip space and lip skin. Appreciate what God gave you and if you want a better color, more definition, and possibly slightly fuller looking lips; lip blushing might be a perfect fit. Just make sure you choose the right artist.

If you are at all unsure really look at healed results.  See if they have any videos of healed results. See if any of their clients tag them in after pics or healed results. I know everyone is looking for the best deal and cheapest option. Just remember you might regret not paying a bit more when you have to pay almost double to get removed and do it again. I just want to make sure everyone chooses the right artist for them and gets the results that they want :) Hope this helps
